List of Financial Markets

What can we trade? Or rather what are the assets that are traded in financial markets?
These assets include: shares of companies, these is the most common, is like buying part of a company. They can also be financial index, it is like buying a package of actions made by shares of the most influential companies. Or commodities as can be oil, natural gas, gold, silver, corn, wheat, etc. also currencies like the dollar, the euro, the pound sterling, Japanese yen, up to the Mexican peso. And other types of assets that are commonly known as derivatives. Options, warrants, treasury notes, volatility, etc.
But there is something that many people do not understand; where and how. The shares, for example, are traded on stock exchanges which may be national or regional, like the New York Stock Exchange or the Nasdaq.
Commodities in U.S. A. are traded in the Chicago Board of Trade, or in the New York Mercantile Exchange, that are places like the stocks exchange floor but instead of shares, they buy and sell, gold, natural gas, corn, wheat, petroleum and so on.
